Converting existing commercial premises — such as former retail units and office buildings — into modern residential apartments is one of the most effective ways to deliver high-quality housing in established town-centre locations across the North West.
Coordinating Design, Structure & Compliance
Across our recent Stockport schemes — including the conversion of an existing retail unit into 26 one- and two-bedroom apartments and the transformation of a former office building into 19 one-bedroom apartments — early coordination between architectural planning, structural engineering, and building control was essential.
Every conversion presents unique technical considerations, from structural steelwork and window replacements to acoustic separation, fire compartmentation, and modern mechanical and electrical routing. By taking a hands-on approach from the initial design stage through to pre-start planning and site delivery, our team ensures programmes remain predictable and quality standards remain consistently high.

Managed Construction at Every Stage
Delivered from initial groundworks and drainage through structural timber framing, external brickwork, roofing, and full internal fit-out, the scheme showcases JET Developments’ turnkey capability on multi-unit residential sites.
Inside each property, particular attention was paid to kitchen detailing, contemporary joinery, energy-efficient heating systems, and crisp finishes — ensuring each home was handed over ready for immediate occupation.
Alongside our multi-unit developments and commercial conversions, JET Developments delivers comprehensive residential renovations across the North West — taking properties back to brick and rebuilding them for modern living.
Internal Re-Engineering & External Kerb Appeal
On our recent bungalow renovation in Knutsford, works encompassed complete new mechanical pipework and radiators, installation of an air source heat pump, new floor tiling throughout, loft boarding, and full redecoration. Externally, extended Kandla Grey Indian sandstone paving, independently controlled soffit lighting, Ring CCTV, and bespoke fencing transformed the property day and night.
Similarly, our full property renovation in Wallasey saw the home stripped back to brick before receiving new plasterboarding, full electrical rewiring, recessed LED lighting, a new kitchen, bathroom and en suite, and new internal doors and woodwork throughout.
