2. The Personal Data We Collect
We only collect personal information that is relevant and necessary to respond to your enquiries, provide our construction services, and operate our website securely. Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Identity & Contact Data: Your name, telephone number, email address, and project location when you complete our online enquiry form or contact us by phone or email.
- Project & Enquiry Information: Any details, architectural plans, site addresses, or specifications you share with us about your proposed build, conversion, or renovation project.
- Direct Messaging Data: If you choose to contact us via WhatsApp, your WhatsApp profile name, phone number, and message history are processed through WhatsApp in order to respond to your query.
- Technical & Security Data: Your IP address (used temporarily for anti-spam rate-limiting on our enquiry form), browser type and version, time zone setting, operating system, and cookie consent preferences.
3. How & Why We Use Your Personal Data (Lawful Basis)
Under UK data protection law, we must always have a lawful basis for processing your personal data. We process your information for the following purposes:
- Responding to Enquiries & Quotations (Contract / Legitimate Interests): To review your enquiry, contact you to discuss your project requirements, arrange site visits, and prepare construction estimates or tenders at your request prior to entering into a contract.
- Delivering Construction Services (Contract): To manage and deliver agreed design, build, conversion, or refurbishment works, coordinate with your design team or local authority building control, and manage project handover.
- Website Security & Spam Prevention (Legitimate Interests): To protect our website and enquiry system from automated spam or abuse (for example, limiting repeated form submissions from the same IP address within a one-hour window).
- Legal, Regulatory & Accounting Obligations (Legal Obligation): To comply with UK tax, accounting, health and safety (CDM), and statutory record-keeping obligations.
We do not use your personal details for unsolicited marketing mailing lists, and we never sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
4. Who We Share Your Data With
We treat your personal and project information confidentially. We only share personal data where strictly necessary with:
- Trusted IT & Website Service Providers: Secure UK/EEA-compliant web hosting, website maintenance, and email delivery providers acting as data processors on our instructions.
- Project Consultants & Subcontractors (With Your Knowledge): Where we are actively quoting on or delivering your project, we may share relevant site or project details with structural engineers, architects, building control officers, or specialist trades as required to carry out the works.
- Legal & Regulatory Authorities: Where disclosure is required by law, court order, HM Revenue & Customs, or the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
5. Data Security & Retention
We have put in place appropriate technical and organisational security measures — including HTTPS encryption, restricted administrative access, and server-level protections — to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorised way.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected:
- General Website Enquiries: If an enquiry does not proceed to a contracted project, we typically retain enquiry records for up to 24 months in case you return to discuss your project, after which they are securely deleted.
- Contracted Construction Projects: Project, contract, and accounting records are retained for at least 6 to 12 years following project completion in line with UK statutory limitation periods and HMRC requirements.
